Community garden for Kingsbridge

20th September 2006

Visit the community garden and get away from the hustle and bustle of town life.

Located at the top of Fore Street, the Kingsbridge Community Garden is an all-year attraction for both visitors and residents alike.

Cared for by volunteers, the garden is an excellent place for a quiet walk or to each lunch and features include a newly planted tranquility area.

Run by the Tresillian Garden Project, it is usually open every weekday during term times between 8.30am and 5pm and can also be opened at weekends and evenings on request.

It is only closed for about two weeks during the school summer holidays.

During the summer months visitors can pick their own vegetables and soft fruit and there is also a selection of vegetable plants and herbaceous plants for sale – all grown without the use of chemical sprays.

Children are always welcome but should be supervised as there is a pond and dogs must also be on a lead during the visit.

The community garden is a registered charity and relies on fundraising. Visitors can become a friend of the garden by leaving their contact details at the information hut on the site.

The Kingsbridge Community Garden is behind Tresillian House, 112 Fore Street, Kingsbridge. For more information phone 01548 853759.
