Kingsbridge Fair Week provides a week of high jinks and only semi-serious sport for all the family.
Always one of the most important events of the town's calendar, the event is centred around the David Rowland's Fun Fair, which is situated on the Quay car park all week.
This year's event will take place between July 19 and 26.
The organising committee puts together a packed programme of activities aimed at all ages.
They include fireworks, crab catching, duck races, raft racing, music, boules, go karts, and a baby competition.
Kingsbridge Town Council also gets involved by organising the traditional glove-hanging ceremony and floral dancing down Fore Street.
Many of Kingsbridge's associations and community groups take part in the traditional parade, made up of colourful floats and walking entries.
The carnival procession snakes through the town and traditionally closes the event.
Kingsbridge Fair Week commemorates the original granting of the Fair Charter by Henry V1 in 1461.
The current format has been used for more than 35 years but it still retains the underlying objective of the original Fair Charter - "to organise a week of activities which locals and visitors can support and participate in and most of all to have a week of fun and entertainment enjoyed by all".
