Kate Moss is back on top of the fashion world after being named Britain's best-dressed woman.

The London-born supermodel was ousted in 2007 by Kylie Minogue after three successive years at number one.

But Glamour magazine's coveted annual list shows that Moss has recaptured her crown as the world’s leading female fashion icon.

Glamour editor Jo Elvin said of Moss: "Kate's back with a vengeance. Her maverick approach to fashion is an inspiration."

Actress Sienna Miller took second place, followed by Scarlett Johansson in third and OC star Rachel Bilson in fourth.

Jennifer Aniston, Alexa Chung, Jessica Alba and Keira Knightly all made the top 10 this year.

Minogue, last year's number one, slipped 18 places to 19th in 2008.

Troubled American pop singer Britney Spears was named the worst-dressed female by the British public, while Naomi Campbell, Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone were also ridiculed for their fashion sense.

Moss, 34, launched her fifth collection for leading UK high street chain Topshop at the end of March.
