Torquay United have completed the signing of Bolton Wanderers defender Mark Ellis for an undisclosed fee.

The former Kingsbridge Community College student has agreed a two-year deal with the Blue Square Premier outfit.

Ellis, 19, spent the 2007/08 season on loan at Torquay, making 23 appearances in all competitions and scoring three goals.

He scored the only goal in a 1-0 home win over Kidderminster Harriers back in February.

United boss Paul Buckle said he was delighted with the capture of Ellis.

"Mark is a great capture and another player who gave us everything he had and again," he told the official club website.

"I am really happy to be able to work with him for the next two years at Plainmoor, which is the best place for him to be."

Ellis, who was born in Plymouth, spent three years with Exeter's youth academy before moving to the Reebok Stadium for £90,000 in April 2007 after a successful trial.
