Defender Mark Ellis has ended his loan spell with Torquay United and returned to Bolton Wanderers.
The former Kingsbridge Community College student joined the Gulls on September 21, and the 20-year-old made 23 appearances in all competitions for the Blue Square Premier side.
However, Ellis, who scored three goals for Torquay, was dropped from the side for the last few games of the season.
He did not even make the squad for the FA Trophy final defeat against Ebbsfleet United at Wembley last Saturday.
Ellis, who was born in Plymouth, spent three years with Exeter's youth academy before moving to the Reebok Stadium for an initial £90,000 in April 2007 after a successful trial.
But his contract with the Premier League club expires at the end of June and it not sure whether manager Gary Megson will offer him a new one.
