Endurancelife, the Kingsbridge-based sporting challenge specialists, has teamed up with the Royal Bank of Scotland to launch a new competition for adventuress business people in the South West.
The RBS Adventure Quest will take place on Thursday 22nd May in the grounds of the Flete Estate, South Devon – a stunning coastal spot at the mouth of the river Erme.
The event – a day long adventure race – will pit teams of three against each other, and the clock, as they compete for the title 'Best in the South West'. Using maps and cryptic clues to guide them, teams will run, scramble, mountain bike, kayak and coasteer their way between hidden checkpoints. The team that navigates their way to the most checkpoints within six hours will be crowned the winners.
Adventure racing is the UK's fastest growing adventure sport and events are held all over the country.
"The RBS Adventure Quest takes adventure racing into the corporate arena as we go in search of the most efficient and effective business teams in the South West. Much like business, adventure racing requires strategy, determination, teamwork, daring and the ability to perform under pressure," said Endurancelife director Andrew Barker.
The event is designed to challenge all levels, from newcomers to elite adventure racers.
"This is the perfect opportunity for companies to prove their mettle outside the office. Teams should be reasonably fit, but the best performing teams are never normally the fittest, they are the teams with a mixed range of abilities who are able to work well in a unit" added Barker.
