A severely depleted East Allington Utd side bowed out of the Herald Cup after a 1-0 defeat at Ashburton on Saturday.

With a host of first team regulars missing, they travelled to Ashburton with just the bare eleven.

Defenders Sean Raymont and Matt Duffy were called up from the reserves, while veteran goalkeeper Roger Trant made his first appearance of the season. This allowed Matt Weeks, normally the Allington number one, to play outfield.

Allington played some exciting football but eventually lost 1-0 to a strong Asburton side.

This Saturday, Allington host Chagford in the Belli Cup. They should hopefully have a full strength squad to choose from.
