Tribunal sets Ellis fee

23rd June 2006

Premiership side Bolton must pay Exeter City an initial fee of £90,000 for Kingsbridge youngster Mark Ellis.

Four further installments of £100,000 will follow if and when the 17-year-old defender makes 10, 20, 30 and 40 appearances.

Exeter will receive a further £10,000 if Ellis plays for the England Under-21s and an additional £100,000 if he makes a full England appearance.

The Grecians are also entitled to a 15 per cent sell-on fee.

"The club is delighted with the amount allocated by the tribunal for Mark Ellis," Exeter said in a statement on their official website.

A transfer fee was decided by a tribunal in London on April 18.

The two clubs had failed to reach an agreement after Ellis signed for Bolton last summer.

Ellis, a former Kingsbridge Community College student, played more than twenty times for the Bolton reserves last season.

Conference side Exeter City signed the former KM United player as a trainee.
