People in the Salcombe area looking for a step onto the housing ladder will have the opportunity to look around one of the shared ownership properties for sale at the new development at Bonfire Hill, Salcombe, on Saturday 8 September, between 10am and 1pm.
The mixture of apartments and houses is due for completion at the end of this year.
Visitors to the site should access it via the site entrance opposite the park and ride at Bonfire Hill, Salcombe, and look for signs directing them to the apartment.
The apartment to be opened up is a 2 bedroom apartment.
Staff from Tor Homes will be on hand to answer questions on shared ownership and work out the costs involved.
The housing company, supported by South Hams District Council, bought the site to provide 33 affordable homes.
The £4m scheme is funded from second homes council tax money, reinvested by Devon County Council in the area, the Housing Corporation, South Hams District Council and Tor Homes.
Over 40 per cent of the homes in Salcombe are second homes and the town has one of the highest percentage of second homeownership in the UK which has a direct impact on property prices.
South Hams District Council has made the provision of affordable housing its top priority and was awarded Beacon Status by the Government in March, 2005, in recognition of its work.
Tor Homes is building 14 homes for rent and 19 for shared ownership.
Anyone interested in shared ownership can ring Deborah Sharp at Tor Homes on 01803 869626.
