A waterside walled garden has gone on sale in Salcombe with an anticipated price tag of £85,000.
The eighth of an acre plot provides amazing views across the mouth of the Salcombe Estuary and towards Fort Charles.
Estate agents Marchand Petit are handling the sale, which they describe as "unique".
The garden, which is in the grounds of the town's historic Moult House, is very close to North Sands beach.
It was visited by legendary poet Alfred Lord Tennyson in the 19th Century and is rumored to be the inspiration behind his famous poem Crossing the Bar.
According to Marchand Petit, the garden would provide an ideal location for a relaxing sunbathe or a family picnic.
But Marchand Petit said it was extremely unlikely that the garden would ever be granted planning permission because it is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of a protected coastline.
The plot also provides an area nearby to park two cars.
Last December, a waterside boatshed in Salcombe was sold for a staggering £402,000 at auction.
Property is at a premium in the town, with many homes unaffordable for the local population.
The average cost of a property in the South Hams is nearly £300,000, while local workers earn an average salary of just £15,000.
