Community's chance to meet police

Thurlestone in south Devon

Thurlestone in south Devon

17th May 2007

Thurlestone residents will now be able to meet regularly with a member of their neighbourhood policing team.

Police Community Support Officer (PSCO) Matt Blackmore will be holding monthly evening surgeries where he will be able to answer queries from local residents.

The Thurlestone surgery will take place on the first Monday of every month, beginning June 4, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at the Thurlestone Village Hall.

PCSO Blackmore has been working hard with the communities of Salcombe and Thurlestone since taking up his post last year.

He said: "I am really enjoying getting to know the communities in the areas I serve, working with them to tackle the issues that affect them is having a very positive affect.

"If anyone in the area of Thurlestone has an issue they would like to raise with their local policing team, please come along to the village hall."

The newly reformed neighbourhood policing team has been working continuously throughout Kingsbridge and the surrounding areas, since it was officially launched at the end of March.

The Kingsbridge teams are led by neighbourhood team leader Sergeant Jane Corkhill.

The teams will be split into three areas covering Kingsbridge, Salcombe and the surrounding areas.

Along with Sgt Corkhill, there are currently three neighbourhood beat managers, supported by four PCSOs and one neighbourhood special constable.

If you have a query for the team you can contact them through their email address at kingsbridge@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk or call the Devon and Cornwall Police non-emergency number on 08452 777 444.

If you need immediate assistance, where life is at threat, people are injured or the offenders are nearby, call 999.
